We are a member of OSADL – The community for open source in industry

Although demicon has been a Bronze member of the Open Source Automation Development Lab (OSADL) only since March, we can already share insights into many very positive experiences. From participating in webinars to meeting the OSADL team in person at the Embedded World trade fair to the onboarding day for us as a member. The OSADL membership is a real benefit for all companies and organizations that use open source software productively or integrate it into their products.

Benefits for Members – Access to Knowledge, Support & Solutions

Access to a comprehensive knowledge database, in-depth documentation, and all webinars including presentations not only offers professional support, but also a real advantage for efficiency in day-to-day development. In particular, the legally correct handling of open source licenses is made much easier by the combination of helpful legal FAQs and convenient tools, such as those for checking license compliance.

At the beginning of membership, there is an exclusive introductory day where useful information about open source, the community, and how to utilize its benefits are provided. In coordination with the members, other technical or legal topics and questions can be additionally addressed in a targeted manner. Our introductory session was not only very informative but also involved active exchange on exciting topics in a good atmosphere.

However, any member can also submit technical or legal questions directly to OSADL at any time. The competent answers or results are then incorporated in an anonymized form into the knowledge base, documentation, or tools, benefiting the entire community.

Competent Knowledge Transfer with Entertainment Value

OSADL also manages to explain even complex topics in webinars, presentations, or the introductory event in a comprehensible and engaging way – supported by many illustrative, practical examples that also offer a high level of entertainment value. By the way, non-members can also participate in the live webinars free of charge.

With OSADL on the cutting edge

We particularly appreciate that OSADL actively supports current developments and is on the cutting edge – for example, when it comes to questions about the legal assessment of AI-generated code.

Furthermore, OSADL participates in many events and trade fairs, such as the Embedded World. There, OSADL also offers the opportunity to present a showcase in the members' area of the booth – a great example of active member involvement. We took this chance to present our solution for significantly improving the developer experience for embedded systems engineering at the last Embedded World 2025.
